新しいスキン (originally released as "circle") is a video by Meatsleep. The video is fifty seconds long and was released on 19 April, 2014. After the purge of Meat's videos in late-2015, "circle" was the only video left on Meat's channel. The title of the video was changed on 4 December, 2015 from "circle" to "新しいスキン."
The video opens with a woman reading a piece of paper that has "新しいスキン" written on it. The video then cuts to a sign that reads "NEW SKIN." We then see a green elevator, florescent lighting, a parking garage with signs that read "P2," a woman standing in the middle of a parking garage, and then a security camera fastened on the ceiling.
The video was originally uploaded by the YouTube channel Sewnkin in March of 2014, but was then deleted and reuploaded by Meatsleep under the new title "circle." The video was then retitled once again on 4 December, 2015 to "新しいスキン," which means "New skin" in Japanese.
The title of the video could relate to a cycle of events. A circle is usually used to illustrate a cycle, and being that "circle" was the only video left on Meat's channel, this could signify that Meatsleep is beginning a new cycle.
"New skin" is an apparent theme throughout the video. The piece of paper and the transcript both translate to "new skin." The sign also read "NEW SKIN." The original title of the video was also "New skin" in Russian. It is not entirely sure what "new skin" really means, but some believe it has to do with wearing the skin of the victims of murder, a practice made notorious by serial killer Ed Gein, and The Silence Of The Lambs character Buffalo Bill.
In the parking garage, the signs that read "P2" may also have some significance. P2 is a movie about a woman who get's trapped in a parking garage and was stalked and held captive by a man. The movie is set in a lot similar to the one in the video. The person filming the video appears to be stalking the woman in the film, based on the perspective of the camera.
- On November 6, 2015, Meatsleep purged every video on the channel except for this video.
- On December 4, 2015, after uploading 新しいスキン and then making it private, the title of this video was subsequently changed to 新しいスキン.
- On January 20, 2016, the video was temporarily publicised once again after the publication of the video forks. The video "forks" references "circle" in the transcript.
